Food Distribution
An integral part of Blue Mountain Action Council’s Community Services Division is the Food Distribution Warehouse. The 4,368 sq. ft. facility is located at 921 W. Cherry Street in Walla Walla. Food from multiple community food drives is stored there until it can be delivered to Walla Walla’s four emergency food pantries. Emergency food vouchers are available at Helpline. For location and hours of operation for local food pantries, click here to view a brochure.
The monthly Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) food donation is held at this location. The program is for low income pregnant women, new mothers up to one year postpartum, infants and children up to age six, and seniors over 60 years old. Individuals cannot receive assistance from both CSFP and WIC (Women Infants and Children Program). Applications for CSFP are available at the main office or the Food Warehouse. CSFP applicants are currently being placed on a waiting list.
Food Distribution occurs on the 3rd Thursday of each month. The last one for this year will be Thursday, December 16, 2010. The dates for 2011 are as follows:

We have dedicated staff who strive to make the enrollment process as hassle free as possible. There is online registration as well as over the telephone.
