Veterans and shelter pets find companionship in one another through the Pet’s for Patriot’s program.

The national program has been adopted locally thanks to a partnership between the BMAC AmeriCorps team and the Blue Mountain Humane Society.

Pet’s for Patriots has a mission to “Give the gifts of fidelity, joy and love to both veteran and pet through companion animal adoption”.

Through the program, Blue Mountain Humane Society is offering veterans a 50% discounted rate on adoptions as well as other benefits.

If you are or know a veteran who could benefit, learn by contacting The Humane Society.

February 14th was Dutch Bro's Coffee's National "Dutch Love Day", an annual event of corporate giving. This year nearly 300 Dutch Bro's locations across the U.S. donated $1 of every drink sold to local food banks. Both the locally owned Walla Walla and Milton Freewater locations participated. Owner, Emily Beamer, chose BMAC's Food Bank as this year’s recipient.

Despite the early morning snow, the Dutch Bro’s team braved the cold day and served up piping hot coffee with smiles on their faces.

Orchestra Rocks

The Walla Walla Symphony’s annual concert & “foodraiser” explores how music is played through interactive demonstration led by local musicians. This free family event just asked that attendees brought a non-perishable food item for admission. Our community really turned out and this year’s event ended with 887 lbs of food donated to the BMAC food bank!
