CFO (Chief Financial Officer)

About Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) BMAC is responsible for ending poverty in Walla Walla, Columbia, and Garfield Counties as our region’s community action agency. We are seeking an exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will share our team’s commitment to this mission, lead financial strategy and planning, oversee an operating budget of over $16M, and grow and strengthen our systems that support over 65 employees. The CFO will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), nine program directors, a team of 2.5 staff, and a board of directors to support the continued success of this multiservice, community anchor institution.

BMAC’s core services are food, housing, and job training, and we provide several other distinct programs designed to help our neighbors and community thrive. We experienced rapid growth through the pandemic, doubling our operating budget and growing staff to meet local needs.  We opened a new central office in 2020 that is the core business hub, and we operate a food bank and warehouse facility, a housing team that manages a shop and 18 properties, and an office in Columbia County. Since our founding in 1966, BMAC has continually grown and developed more complex operations that require sophisticated financial management and reporting. With dozens of federal, state, and local grants or contracts currently under management, the CFO is responsible for overseeing detailed fund requirements and providing vision and oversight as we adapt to future community needs.

Building on a strong financial foundation, the next CFO will inherit a department that is respected for its integrity and accuracy and whose success is at the heart of our ability to serve our team and our community well. We are seeking a dynamic problem solver and strong communicator who can translate financial requirements to practitioners across our team. We look forward to growing with our next CFO and enhancing our systems to serve the future needs of the organization and our community.
